How to Import LUTs to Premiere Pro

Adding LUTs to Premiere Pro can add a lot of creative control to your video editing workflow. By using LUTs, you can change the color, brightness, and other attributes of any video clip in Premiere Pro. This gives you more control over the look and feel of your videos, which can make them more appealing to viewers. In this article, learn how to add LUTs to Premiere Pro.

There are two methods to add LUTs to Premiere Pro. The first method is to copy the LUTs file to the Premiere’s LUTs folder, which is the default way.

Step 1: Download and Install LUTs

Unzip the LUTs file and extract the contents to a folder. Then copy the LUTs file to the specified directory.

/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/LUTs/Creative

/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/LUTs/Technical

Windows

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\LUTs\Creative

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\LUTs\Technical

Step 2: How to use LUTs

Launch Premiere Pro and select any video in the Files section on the top menu bar. This will open up a window where you can browse for and import your video.

Next, open the Lumetri Color panel, click the Creative options area and select the “Look” dropdown list, then select the LUTs you want to use. The LUTs will be loaded and applied to your footage.

Method Two:

Suppose you don’t want to copy the LUTs file to the specified directory. In that case, directly select the file you need to use. Select the Effects control panel then click on the “Browse” button to navigate to the LUTs file (The file extension is .cube) in the Lumetri Color panel.
